Four sauces: Tikka Masala, Punjabi Masala, Tamarind Chutney & Tamarind Puree

| /

Most dishes in Indian cooking have a specific set of spices (masalas) that gives them a unique flavor and appeal. Here, you can purchase my own unique blends: Tikka Masala, Punjabi Masala, Tamarind Chutney & Tamarind Puree

Tikka Masala

In Indian cuisine, curries are the equivalent to gravies. And, a good Tikka Masala is at once rich and flavorful. With its roots in Punjabi cuisine, this sauce balances the tartness of tomatoes with the subtlety of spices. With earthy, flavorful notes from cumin and coriander seeds, this sauce is made heartier with almonds and is a perfect backdrop to any main ingredient, whether meat or vegetables.

Ingredients: Tomato, onion, garlic, tomato paste, ginger, almond, serrano chile, vegetable oil, organic light brown sugar, salt, cumin seed, paprika, red chile powder, black pepper, cinnamon, turmeric, green cardamom, water and lemon juice concentrate

Allergen info: This product contains almonds and is prepared and packaged using machines that may come in contact with wheat/gluten, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, milk, peanuts, soy.

Punjabi Masala

It's like a soup starter - but a curry starter! Think of this Punjabi Masala as a head start for virtually any North Indian curry. In the weeks before my own wedding, my mother made buckets of this mixture so that small amounts could be pulled out for quick meals during the two-week celebration. Consider yourself now privy to the 'secret sauce' that most Punjabi families keep on hand for quick and easy meals during the week.

Ingredients: Water, tomato, onion, ginger, vegetable oil, tamarind, garlic, salt and turmeric

Allergen info: This product is prepared and packaged using machines that may come in contact with wheat/gluten, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, milk, peanuts, soy.

Tamarind Chutney

Our classic Tamarind Chutney dipping sauce is a perfect part of any meal. Use it traditionally with samosas, pakoras, and biryanis. Or, use it on the side with your grilled protein from lamb to beef, chicken, and tofu. Use a dollop in your unsweetened yogurt for an elevated experience and to make a traditional raita or drizzle it over chaat (Indian snack food) or vanilla or banana ice-cream.

Ingredients: Tamarind, sugar, water, red chili powder, salt, garlic powder, carmel color, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, annatto.

Tamarind Puree

Tamarind Puree is a concentrate of tamarind, the pod of a tree found and cultivated mostly in India. Its tart taste makes it a perfect addition to Indian dishes.

Dilute 1 teaspoon in 1/2 cup of warm water and add to your dish. Add more as needed.

Ingredients: Tamarind, water.
