Thank you to everyone who made it to my very first booksigning at Borders on North and Halsted on Saturday, October 16. We sold a huge amount of books -- close to 60 and then even more after that from folks that had been in the store that day and were intrigued by the book. For that I thank all of you and the team at Borders at that location. I will always come back and work with the group there, who went out of their way to make my first signing easy and hugely sucessful.
Now...you all have to come to the next event there...it's a 10:30 a.m. (FREE) how-to on Indian spices on Tuesday, December 7. Let me know if you're coming and I'll reserve your spot. I'll be doing some research on where to buy what locally and will have a list of great information for you!
All pics were shot by Gregg Lowe with Brave New Pictures. Their team shot the pictures for my cookbook and do some absolutely amazing work.

Hi Anupy, we met while selling books at the NFPW conference in Chicago in August. I promised I’d send you a chocolate recipe! I’m still digging out from paperwork and whiplash and a new puppy…but here’s as quick and simple and divine as it gets: hot chocolate sauce, absolutely wonderful for dipping fresh strawberries into or pouring over ice cream. Hope you enjoy. And congratulations on a great Borders book event! I do a “Twitter a Day” on my blog and I’ll list your website tomorrow.
Combine one cup heavy whipping cream, a third cup of white sugar and a third cup of corn syrup in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then remove from the stove and stir in a 12 ounce package of Ghiardelli bittersweet chocolate and a teaspoon and a half of vanilla extract. (A dash of something else like Grand Marnier as well couldn’t possibly hurt!)
